About Me
My Bio!
Hello Everyone, My Name is Michael Lettman.

I'm an advocate living on the Autism Spectrum (High-Functioning).

I run My Project's Website as part of my project known as "Living with Autism by Michael Lettman".

During my high school years, I was a student in a P373K Transition Program located at a Head Start program (from within a childcare center) & I've graduated in June 2016 then I've attended an AHRC NYC Community Program (dayhab without walls) in the beginning of 2017.

As of Summer 2019, I've attended AHRC NYC's Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program at Kingsborough Community College to work on achieving my future goals to become independent, gain work experience (just like during my time at a childcare center), & to proceed with my advocating project.

Suggested by Ms. Heather Lifland (during my Final School Year): My own project was created with Ms. Heather Lifland helping me starting it, which then started the path for Michael Lettman to try becoming any kind of help to the autism community.

From working with Ms. Heather Yaden (who volunteered to help me with my project): My Blog was created along with me running it but I only managed to make it a little better by working with other collaborators.
Since I'm able to articulate what it feels like to be someone who is "Living with Autism", my personal goal is to not only help educators & parents understand those without a voice but to also try explaining Autism from my own perspective.
Sometimes I feel like others with autism are mistreated, abused, being hated by non-autistic people, or maybe even get treated badly (maybe even people with other disabilities), so I want to try explaining to others about what having autism feels like so they can understand people on the autism spectrum (like myself) a little better, I do feel sorry for them for going through much in their lives after all.
Which is why I will try to help & explain Autism from my own perspective so that the autism & non-autism communities can understand each other more within their lives.
