PS24: Michael's 7th Gym Battle!
PS24's Documented "Plot"
After meeting up with Marnie (who soon took off to investigate the gateway being closed off), the young Gym Challenger was instructed by a Team Yell grunt to change into his Gym Uniform for the Gym Mission (which apparently can start from where he stands). Despite being a little bewildered, Michael changed into his Gym Uniform & started his Gym Mission.
After learning about the Dark-Type Gym Leader (who turns out to be the 1 not present at the opening ceremony via PS03), Michael now feels sorry for Spikemuth looking as is & believes that he can still enjoy his 7th Gym Battle with no Dynamaxing (since he had experienced enjoying plenty of ordinary battles when he's not at power spot locations).
After battling many Team Yell grunts (who were revealed to be Spikemuth Gym Trainers), Michael noticed Marnie discovering what Team Yell had done "for her sake". Marnie then instructed Michael to head straight for the Gym Leader who was singing by a few steps straight ahead as he declared his Gym Mission cleared.
After a little while of reclining into watching & listening to the Gym Leader's rocking music, Michael stepped onto the battlefield where Gym Leader Piers (his game counterpart) awaits + Team Yell watching. Michael instructed Piers that even without Dynamax, a Gym is still a Gym, a Gym Battle is still a Gym Battle, & a Gym Leader is still a Gym Leader, so he aiming for the Dark-Type Gym Leader of Spikemuth to come at him with everything he's got as the Gym Battle started.
It was a back-&-forth Gym Battle with Piers's Scrafty losing to Michael's Toxtricity who lost to Piers's Malamar who lost to Michael's Morgrem who lost to Piers's Obstagoon (his true ace) who lost to Michael's Inteleon who lost to Piers's Skuntank who lost to Michael's Persian, giving Michael the win + it resulted his Morgrem evolving into Grimmsnarl.
The young Gym Challenger earned his 7th Gym Badge, the Dark Badge.
Michael gave his thanks to Gym Leader Piers for coming at him in an acceptable ordinary Gym Battle + he also claimed to have enjoyed his rocking music. After noticing Marnie had watched their Gym Battle, Michael got very impressed to learn that she & Gym Leader Piers were siblings + observing their chat allowed him to see how close they are. After Marnie gave her thanks to Michael for a great Gym Battle he had with her bro, he needed to step away for her turn next.
After changing back into his regular clothes, Michael heard a loud noise then heard Champion Leon had shown up as he proceeded into having met up with him. From speaking with Champion Leon before he took off to handle a nearby situation (which caused major booming noises), Michael understood how Champion Leon aims to protect everyone from danger while also understood to proceed with the Gym Challenge, especially since he now has 7 Gym Badges required for him to face Hammerlocke Gym Leader Raihan.
