PS34 (Rival Showdown III): Bede, the Pride of a Gym Leader!

Galarian Michael & his Gigantamax Toxtricity

PS34's Documented "Plot"

Later in the evening, Michael & Hop were all set for heading over to Wyndon Stadium. Hop went on ahead while Michael took a quick detour to a Pokemon Center to take care of a few things, rotating his team members, a little buying & more selling at the Poke Mart, hearing the memories of his team members (old & new), & trying out something for his Mr. Mime (which was also the 1st time in trying out a Technical Record).

Meeting up with Hop, he & Michael looked upon Wyndon Stadium where the latter shall follow the former's words of showing everyone the greatest battles they've ever seen.

With Hop heading to spectate in the audience, Michael checked in (while noticing some admiring fans) for the Champion Cup Finals while learning how he'll be facing the Gym Leaders for a right to challenge Galar Champion Leon himself. Michael got fascinated enough from being aware that he must win against the Galar Gym Leaders (which he already faced during his Gym Challenge) once again so that a certain friend/rival can see a battle between him & the Galar Champion.

In the locker room (+ changed into his Gym Uniform attire), Michael met up with the Gym Leaders & chat with them a little before they all headed out onto the pitch where an opening ceremony took place.

Before the Finals could even begin, everyone got astounded by the sudden appearance of Former Challenger Bede, who came to settle a final score with Challenger Michael, who was more astounded to see his former rival returning especially for wanting to have 1 last showdown with him.

During their chat, Michael started to understand what Bede had to do after everything he's been through (being disowned from Chairman Rose then was taken in by Opal as her official successor). Since Bede poured out his honesty, Michael had done the same from what he had been seeing Bede as, while he was in the Gym Challenge. Apparently, Galar Champion Leon accepted Bede's sudden request, which means the 2 former rivals can have their battle, as it proceeded to begin.

Michael's Lampent succeeds in defeating Bede's Mawile before it fell to his Gardevoir, Although Michael's Mr. Mime did well in defeating Bede's Gardevoir, it quickly lost to his Galarian Rapidash. Seeing Rapidash as a strong-looking Psychic-Type (partly), Michael took the risk of Gigantamaxing his Toxtricity for the first time, which gratefully defeated Rapidash. Bede brought out his ace, Gigantamax Hatterene, who managed to take down its opponent with a single super-effective Max Move (however Gigantamax Toxtricity's signature move did manage to land a paralysis on the opponent). With both sides down to 1 Pokemon, Michael brought out his Galarian Slowking, who managed to survive the opponent's Max Moves long enough to defeat it, giving Challenger Michael the win.

Everyone in the audience not only cheered on the 2 former rivals, they've enjoyed the battle so much that they're asking Bede to restart his career, which wasn't his original plan but had to accept the fact that he'll continue his training to overtake Opal as the Fairy-Type Gym Leader as Michael also unexpectedly started to cheer him on while giving his thanks to "Gym Leader Bede" for their match.

Rested up in the locker room, the young Gym Challenger can now look forward to the Champion Cup Finals.
