PS38's Documented "Plot"

After a quick rotation (via Pokemon Box Link), Challenger Michael stepped onto the pitch where Galar Champion Leon awaits + a massive crowd watching.

However before their match could start (+ Michael was about to say something), everyone's attention was caught on the big monitor, which had Chairman Rose (streaming from Hammerlocke Stadium) speaking to Michael & Champion Leon about bringing forth "the Darkest Day" before things started to get worse, leaving everyone (across Galar) in a state of havoc.

After Hop met up with Michael & Champion Leon, the latter had chosen to head straight for Hammerlocke Stadium to handle the situation. During a chat between Hop & Michael, not only they're both aware of the Darkest Day (from both Sonia & the hero statue in Motostoke) but they're both certain the mysterious Pokemon they've met in the Slumbering Weald (since PS01) is 1 of the Legendary Pokemon (with 2 heroes), which had saved all of Galar. The 2 friends/rivals then decided to go back to the Slumbering Weald in order to find something that could help them out as they've immediately headed to Postwick.

Arriving back to their own hometown, Michael & Hop came across Professor Sonia who's unaware of what's going on until Michael's Mum shown up & explained everything for her. While Sonia got astounded upon hearing about the Darkest Day, she got informed by Michael about the reason they've arrived, which made sense for her.

After entering the Slumbering Weald, both Michael & Hop reminisce about the last time they were there (when they've started out) & now they've grown stronger. As Hop went on ahead, Michael took a quick stroll until he finally caught with him when they got surrounded by a think fog then they both noticed the exact mysterious Pokemon (along with another) had appeared right before their eyes.

After both Pokemon disappeared, Sonia (who had caught up with them) was unaware of

what had just happened, which left both Hop & Michael confused. From what Sonia described by her research, both Hop & Michael had learned that the names of the 2 mysterious Pokemon were Zacian & Zamazenta.

After giving their thanks to Professor Sonia then went on ahead, Hop & Michael came across an altar where they discovered the sword & shield from Galar's legendary history. Uncertain if the legendary Pokemon would appear anytime soon, Hop & Michael packed the ancient artifacts in their bags (hoping they would grant them good luck) then grab a Flying Taxi to reach back to Hammerlocke where they ran into Raihan outside of Hammerlocke Stadium (while noticing a dark storm coming from above in the sky).

While Hop went on ahead, Michael was happy to hear how Raihan (& other Gym Leaders) managed to evacuate residents to safety while Raihan got grateful to Michael's loyalty for wanting to help save the people & Pokemon of Galar. Arriving inside the stadium, Michael noticed Oleana & prepared for battle (from what occurred during PS30) but this time, Oleana looked desperately in need of help. From what Oleana explained, Michael understood that he must stop Chairman Rose while astounded that "the Darkest Day" was a Pokemon & became newly-renamed as "Eternatus".

After taking a lift down to the underground power plant (& met up with Hop), Michael came across a destroyed hangar where he noticed Chairman Rose & from what he'd been explaining, everything started to make sense for Michael, what his former rival Bede had been doing (before he got disowned) & what's been going on in the power plant (which explained booming noises & incidents) were all part of awakening Eternatus. As Chairman Rose stepped in from allowing anyone to cause interference, Michael did the same upon now focusing on defeating the Chairman for causing grave danger to the Galar region.

After succeeding in defeating Chairman Rose, he gave an apology while claiming how it was shameful that Eternatus couldn't be controlled which led to disrupting a lot (including with the Champion Cup). He then informs Michael that Champion Leon is battling Eternatus at the top of the stadium so he may head on up there with Hop who had spoken about aiming to help through experiences that had been gained during the Gym Challenge.

Before taking a lift, Michael let Hop know to give him a moment to recover his own Pokemon, which Hop understood since it's unknown what shall happen afterwards so it's better to be ready for it as they'll be taking on the Darkest Day itself.
