UM01: Welcome to Alola!

Michael’s “Poke Problem”: Which Pokemon was chosen to be Michael’s partner? Choices: Popplio, Litten, Rowlet, Kantonian Meowth (Answer Revealed Below)

UM01's Documentation ("Plot")

After meeting Professor Kukui (his game counterpart), confirming the photo for the Trainer Passport, and spelling out “my” name, a young boy named "Michael" was all set to move from Kanto to the Alola Region with his mom + after a certain beginning scene involving the game counterpart of a certain mysterious girl and a certain mysterious Pokemon friend of hers managing to make an escape from some trouble they were in, Michael’s Pocket Monsters Ultra Moon has officially begun. After 3 months had passed, Michael is beginning to settle in his new home in the Alola Region with his mom (and her Kantonian Meowth). As suggested by his mom, Michael sets off to do a little exploring when he came across a wild Yungoos that was about to attack him but then 3 Pokemon came and saved him from the wild Yungoos.

After Michael thanked the Pokemon for helping him, the game counterpart of Professor Kukui arrives and they all meet up with each other. As Professor Kukui’s game counterpart welcomes Michael to Alola, Michael learns from him that one of the 3 Pokemon which helped him out shall become his partner which was exciting news to hear. After a little pondering around the 3 Starter Pokemon of Alola, Michael chose the Fire-Type Pokemon Litten as his partner thus becoming an official Pokemon Trainer.

Afterwards Michael and his chosen partner were getting close to Iki Town when they met a young boy named Hau (his game counterpart) who not only knows about Michael but was also gonna choose a Pokemon to be his partner. Although learning that Michael had already chosen his partner (after some trouble with a wild Yungoos), the game counterpart of Hau had already decided to choose the Grass-Type Pokemon Rowlet as his partner and it lead to Professor Kukui’s game counterpart to take good care of the Water-Type Pokemon Popplio. Hau’s game counterpart and Rowlet then asked Michael and Litten to face them in their first-ever Pokemon Battle, which they gladly accepted. At the end, Michael and Litten emerged victorious (along with Litten receiving enough Exp. Points to level up) and the 2 trainers complimented each other for battling well with their partners for the first time. After reaching Iki Town, Professor Kukui’s game counterpart noticed that the game counterpart of Kahuna Hala wasn’t around so he recommended Michael to go visit the Ruins of Conflict while waiting for Kahuna Hala’s game counterpart to return which he accepted.

On his way to the ruins, Michael noticed a mysterious girl who looked a little worried about something as she then proceeded onward. As he just arrived at Mahalo Trail, Michael noticed some trouble that was happening to a mysterious Pokemon that he had never seen before. As Michael noticed the same girl from earlier then went up to her, she asked him to help save “Nebby” from a flock of Spearow on a plank bridge.

After Michael and Litten chased off one of the Spearow, Michael (himself) charged in to defend “Nebby” from the remaining Spearow when the bridge collapsed and as Michael and Nebby were about to fall to the bottom of the ravine, a Pokemon swooped in to save them then looked towards Michael before flying off.

“Nebby” then came across a mysterious sparkling stone to which it gave to the girl and after she thanked Michael for his help, she introduced herself as Lillie (her game counterpart). The game counterpart of Lillie decided to give the sparkling stone to Michael, figuring that it must be for him then she asked Michael to not say a word about “Nebby” to anyone, which left him a little confused but he understood. Afterwards Lillie’s game counterpart and Michael went back to Iki Town and met up with Professor Kukui’s game counterpart who revealed that Lillie’s game counterpart is his assistant. After Professor Kukui’s game counterpart introduced Michael to his assistant, the game counterpart of Kahuna Hala had returned to Iki Town and met with the group. After Lillie’s game counterpart informs of what happened at the plank bridge which made Michael realize that he was saved by a Pokemon known as Tapu Koko, Kahuna Hala’s game counterpart introduces himself to Michael and welcomes him to Alola. Michael then received a Pokedex and his Trainer Passport from Professor Kukui’s game counterpart. After Hau’s game counterpart arrives back to the group, Kahuna Hala’s game counterpart notices the sparkling stone that Michael has and asks if he could borrow it since he reveals that it was given to Michael from Tapu Koko. Michael understood and gave the sparkling stone to Kahuna Hala’s game counterpart then Michael was informed that he’ll receive it back later on. Michael was then invited to attend an upcoming festival to which he’ll be looking forward to. Michael can also understand that he’s not the only one who knows about “Nebby” as those around him are already familiar with it. After Professor Kukui’s and Lillie’s game counterparts escorted Michael to his home, he introduces his partner Litten to his mom and Meowth then he explains the new experiences that occurred while he was away, which his mom was very happy for her son as Michael will look forward to what lies ahead of him now that he’s living in the Alola region.
