UM17's Documentation ("Plot")
Michael arrived at Lush Jungle where the game counterpart of Mallow welcomed him to her trial site. After Michael declares he’s ready for her trial, the Trial of Mallow has begun as Mallow’s game counterpart first explains to Michael he’ll need to find 3 ingredients for her so she can make her Super Mallow Special. She gave Michael a Forage Bag for him to place the 3 trial ingredients into, which are a Mago Berry, some Honey, and a Big Root. Mallow’s game counterpart and Michael arrived at the location to find Mago Berries but Mallow’s game counterpart warns Michael about the Formantis that lives in the area and if he were to pick up a Mago Berry that the Formantis were eyeing on, then they would not accept it so kindly which Michael understood. After Michael picked up a Mago Berry by a tree then shows it to Mallow’s game counterpart, she again warns him about the Formantis that may come attack him later for picking up a Mago Berry that they were eyeing on but Michael kindly explains that he’ll be okay as long as he has his Pokemon Friends to help him. They set off to find the next ingredient but unbeknownst to Michael, a Formantis noticed what he did and set off to attack him. Mallow’s game counterpart and Michael arrived at the location to find Honey where she reminded Michael to return back to her after he found the trial ingredient. After Michael already found some Honey to pick up, he ran into Kiawe’s game counterpart who explains to him that he brought a Thick Club as another ingredient for the Super Mallow Special, which Michael is already helping out with in his trial. After finding the Technical Machine for Grass Knot, Michael headed back to Mallow’s game counterpart to show the Honey he gathered which she must again warn about a Pokemon that may come attack him later, which Michael kindly answered that he’ll be okay as long as he has his Pokemon Friends to help him. They set off for the final trial ingredient but unbeknownst to Michael, a Comfey noticed what he did and set off to attack him. Mallow’s game counterpart and Michael arrived at the location to find Big Roots which are benaths trees that look like Sudowoodo but most trees are actually Sudowoodo. Michael ran into Lana’s game counterpart who can see that Michael’s taking on her friend’s trial and explains that she’s bringing some Fresh Water for the Super Mallow Special. After picking up a Big Root and shows it to Mallow’s game counterpart, she gave Michael the same warning about getting attacked by a Pokemon for picking up items which they think belonged to them but Michael still kindly explained that he’ll be okay as long as he has his Pokemon Friends to help him. They headed back to the entrance with all the trial ingredients but unbeknownst to Michael, a Sudowoodo noticed Michael took its Big Root and set off to attack him. Michael gathered with the game counterparts of Lana, Kiawe, and Mallow as they got started with the Super Mallow Special. First they were gonna get started with the Mago Berry when a Formantis arrived to attack Michael. Seeing that Formantis didn’t accept the Mago Berry it was eyeing on getting picked up, Michael chose to face it in battle with Torracat who managed to defeat it. Continuing with the Super Mallow Special, Mallow’s game counterpart added the Mago Berry and some Fresh Water (from Lana’s game counterpart) into the concoction as they were gonna add some Honey next but a Comfey arrived to attack Michael. Seeing that Comfey didn’t accept the Honey that it was gonna sip later getting picked up, Michael had no choice but to face it in battle with Torracat, who managed to defeat it despite taking some damage from its opponent. Continuing with the Super Mallow Special, Mallow’s game counterpart added the Honey and the Thick Club (from Kiawe’s game counterpart) into the concoction as she added the final ingredient next, which was a Big Root but a Sudowoodo arrived to attack Michael. Seeing that Sudowoodo wanted its big root back, Michael had no choice but to face it in battle with Torracat. Even though Torracat did manage to defeat Sudowoodo, it took a lot of damage from its opponent’s strong Flail attack, which managed to land a critical hit. After Mallow’s game counterpart put the finishing touches into the concoction, the Super Mallow Special was completed as Michael liked seeing how they put some good effort into making it but as a large aroma began to waft around the area, a Totem Pokemon appeared behind Michael to battle him which according to Mallow’s game counterpart was the Totem Pokemon of Lush Jungle, a Lurantis. As Michael accepts to battle Totem Lurantis, the battle begins. Torracat was sent out first even though it took a lot of damage from recent battles. Torracat did manage to toughen out against Totem Lurantis’s X-Scissor attack (which Michael was relieved to see) then scored massive damage to the Totem Pokemon + inflicting it with a burn as Totem Lurantis then called an ally for help, a Comfey. So Michael had Torracat attack Comfey next who fought back with its Magical Leaf attack but Torracat still managed to hold on for its trainer as Totem Lurantis then used Synthesis to recover some health. Michael was gonna have Torracat attack Totem Lurantis but it managed to defeat Torracat with Solar Blade and Michael thanked his partner for all its hard work then sent out his fully-evolved Toucannon. Despite Totem Lurantis using Synthesis to recover to full health then Comfey used Flower Shield to raise Totem Lurantis’s defense, Michael and Toucannon still went on with their Flying-Type Z-Move: Supersonic Skystrike which actually managed to defeat Totem Lurantis then Toucannon defeated Comfey with Fury Attack resulting in winning the battle. Not only Mallow’s game counterpart saw how Michael and his team were strong to defeat the Totem Pokemon of Lush Jungle, Lana’s and Kiawe’s game counterparts also added how Michael and his team was strong to defeat Totems Araqunaid and Alolan Marowak. Mallow’s game counterpart congratulated Michael for clearing her trial as she gave Michael a Grass-Type Z-Crystal, Grassium Z. She then showed him the Grass-Type Z-Move pose and gave him 10 Nest Balls for whenever he wanted to catch some Pokemon in Lush Jungle.
After Michael gave a nice thank you to Mallow’s game counterpart, Mallow’s game counterpart can see that Totem Lurantis didn’t get to enjoy the Super Mallow Special so she offered it to her friends but both Kiawe’s and Lana’s game counterpart denied it so she just take it to Olivia’s game counterpart instead as Michael kindly parted from them while pondering a little how he could’ve accepted trying out the Super Mallow Special since he did helped with finding the ingredients. Michael ran into Professor Kukui’s game counterpart who’s already aware of Michael clearing Mallow’s game counterpart’s trial and gave him a nice reward which was the Technical Machine for Smart Strike. Michael agrees with Professor Kukui’s game counterpart that new experiences are sure to brighten up his adventure then he was informed to check out the Dimensional Research Lab later on during his adventure as they exited Lush Jungle. Professor Kukui’s game counterpart congratulated Michael for clearing all 3 Akala Island trials as Michael was informed that he’s all set to take on the Akala grand trial against the game counterpart of Kahuna Olivia. Michael was also informed that Kahuna Olivia’s game counterpart is an expert with Rock-Type Pokemon as Professor Kukui’s game counterpart suggested to Michael to catch some Grass-Type Pokemon at Lush Jungle, which Michael willingly decided to deny it as he rather focus on training with the Pokemon Friends that he currently has on hand + he’s know there’ll be other Pokemon Friends that he’ll get during his journey. Professor Kukui’s game counterpart then parted from Michael as he’ll be waiting for him at the Dimensional Research Lab. After collecting a few more berries then defeating a wild Crabrawler with Toucannon, Michael decided to do a quick visit for a certain Pokemon at a certain lab. Michael was happy to see the Alolan Vulpix again (who still recognized Michael) and the foundation worker who informed him that Vulpix has been doing good in eating its food and it even started to trust the foundation worker a little.
The foundation worker does want Vulpix to play outside without getting intimidated by Team Skull which Michael then offered to protect it, which the foundation worker was glad to hear that Vulpix can feel safe to play with Michael around.
After playing outside, Vulpix’s fur was a little muddy but Michael was happy to see that it safely had fun, which the foundation worker then thanked Michael for his help again. As the foundation worker and Vulpix shall rest up for a while, Michael confirms that he’ll come back for another visit. While resting at Route 8’s Pokemon Center and looking at his new Grassium Z, Michael started to feel that both the trial at Lush Jungle and the battle against the Flying-Type Z-Move trainer (back in UM16) had helped made it up to Toucannon after what occurred during the trial at Brooklet Hill.
The young trial-goer thanked Torracat and Toucannon for their hard work in Mallow’s game counterpart’s trial as they’ll be looking forward to their upcoming Akala grand trial against the game counterpart of Kahuna Olivia.
