UM30's Documentation ("Plot")

After meeting back with Acerola’s game counterpart (and the Yungoos that he had saved), Michael arrived back at Aether House only to notice that something had occurred from seeing the 2 kids and Hau’s game counterpart looking unhappy. Michael was highly shocked to hear that Lillie’s game counterpart was gone, which led to him asking what exactly happened to her as the 2 kids and Hau’s game counterpart explained with a flashback. According to the flashback, Plumeria’s game counterpart showed up at Aether House and found out about Nebby being with Lillie’s game counterpart. Since Lillie’s game counterpart didn’t want Team Skull to hurt anyone, she turned herself in to them. Hearing what had happened not only explained why Plumeria’s game counterpart wasn’t in Po Town from when Michael was there, but the young trial-goer was very upset to hear that he was unable to be at Aether House to help Lillie’s game counterpart and Nebby stay safe + he got mad at those enemies for actually doing clever despite everything he’s done to defeat them back at their own base. Hau’s game counterpart was sad since he was supposed to be a strong trainer from having a really good team and yet when it came down to it, Lillie’s game counterpart had to protect him and the 2 kids. Michael really didn’t wanna say something like it but he was a little disappointed in his friend since he was unable to defeat Team Skull to defend a friend of theirs. Even though he had managed to win in their past battles, Michael still always believed that his friend was always as strong as him since they were both doing the island challenge. Gladion’s game counterpart had suddenly shown up as both Hau’s game counterpart and Michael were kinda shocked to hear he knows about Lillie’s game counterpart. After hearing what had happened from Michael, Gladion’s game counterpart was mad that he couldn’t protect Lillie’s game counterpart and Nebby as he then had a strange feeling within him which made him wanna release it by throwing everything he has at Michael, which left everyone at a bewildered state, thus Michael sees himself being forced to battle Gladion’s game counterpart for a second time but for some reason, the young trial-goer somehow didn’t mind due to how he’s feeling right now (which is also being mad) so he takes the challenge to release everything he has himself. At the end, Michael emerged victorious but Gladion’s game counterpart apologizes for dragging him into a meaningless battle which Michael didn’t mind. Gladion’s game counterpart reminded the 2 young trial-goers about Cosmog bringing disaster to Alola and now he has to get back from them. Gladion’s game counterpart said to Michael that he’s coming with him whether he likes it or not then asked if he’s ready to go which the young trial-goer first commented how he mad he is at Team Skull for what they’ve done after everything he went through in Po Town + he couldn’t even be with Lillie’s game counterpart and Cosmog for when they needed to be safe so of course the young trial-goer still go with Gladion’s game counterpart if it means defeating Team Skull for good along with saving a friend and her own Pokemon Friend. Michael apologizes to Acerola’s game counterpart for what had happened as she begs for him to save Lillie’s game counterpart + the 2 kids (who already thanked Michael for saving Yungoos) also begs him to save Lillie’s game counterpart, which the young trial-goer promises to do so. Michael then spoke with Hau’s game counterpart who’s also coming along since he wishes to do what he can to help after what had happened so Michael informs him to meet with him and Gladion’s game counterpart at the ferry terminal soon. While waiting at the ferry terminal for Hau’s game counterpart, Gladion’s game counterpart and Michael spoke with each other about him while agreeing that he can be interesting from wanting to be as skilled as his grandfather. The game counterpart of Kahuna Nanu has shown up and commented to the two about why Team Skull couldn’t keep themselves and their trouble-making in Po Town from not liking the mess that they’ve recently caused. Kahuna Nanu's game counterpart then turned to Michael, requesting the young trial-goer to battle him. Michael wonders if that means they’ll be having his Ula’ula Island grand trial, which Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart confirms and it’ll be a good experience for him if he hopes to master the island challenge. At first, Michael might want to accept having the grand trial but he also needs to depart soon to help 2 friends so he first checked back with Gladion’s game counterpart who confirmed that he doesn’t mind before departing since they’re waiting for Hau’s game counterpart anyway. So the young trial-goer accepted and is about to have his third grand trial against the Kahuna of Ula’ula Island’s game counterpart + after asking a quick question, Michael also got to learn that the kahuna he’s about to face is an expert with Dark-Type Pokemon. During the ending of the battle (after seeing the Dark-Type Z-Move: Black Hole Eclipse for the first time), Michael’s Incineroar faced Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart’s Alolan Persian and seeing how that Alolan Persian is tough, Michael decided to try out Incineroar’s exclusive Z-Move for the first time and unleash Malicious Moonsault on their opponent but it managed to have survived the Z-Move and went straight for the final blow but Incineroar managed to avoid it for its trainer (under their affectionate bond of course) then delivered its own final blow which gave Michael his third grand trial victory. After caring for his hard-working partner Incineroar in a Pokemon Refresh activity, Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart recovered Michael’s team then gave the young trial-goer a Darkinium Z, which he accepted and declared his third grand trial was completed. Even though Michael became aware of knowing the pose for his Dark-Type Z-Crystal (because of Incineroar’s exclusive Z-Move), he still doesn’t mind letting Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart show him since he technically never used Black Hole Eclipse yet. Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart went ahead and showed Michael the Dark-Type Z-Move pose and the young trial-goer got the Ula’ula stamp of approval on his Trainer Passport. Upon hearing from Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart that all of Michael’s Ula’ula trials have been cleared, the young trial-goer was happy to hear that achievement as he thanked the Kahuna of Ula’ula Island’s game counterpart for the grand trial. Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart mentioned to Gladion’s game counterpart that if he’s aiming to become strong then why is he depending on Team Skull for which made Michael ponder about how Gladion’s game counterpart was involved with Team Skull but maybe he wasn’t exactly an enemy since Team Skull didn’t care much about him and he did wanted Nebby to be protected. As Kahuna Nanu’s game counterpart departed, Hau’s game counterpart arrived and was informed about Michael’s third grand trial victory which he congratulated him for. As Gladion’s game counterpart informed Hau’s game counterpart what they needed to do isn’t gonna be fun, Hau’s game counterpart already knows that since not only he’s still unhappy about what occurred at Aether House, he remembers how his partner Dartrix wanted to achieve more in getting stronger with its trainer which Michael can understand and despite what occurred at Aether House, Michael still believes in his friend as they must now focus on saving a friend of theirs, which Hau’s game counterpart agrees with as they’ve willing to do whatever it takes to do that. Hau’s game counterpart asked Gladion’s game counterpart where could Lillie’s game counterpart be taken to as it couldn’t be Po Town due to Michael being there the whole time, Gladion’s game counterpart replies that the location will be Aether Paradise which left both the 2 trial-goers in shock as they departed from Ula’ula Island with Gladion’s game counterpart to reach the Aether Foundation’s main location. Upon arriving at Aether Paradise, Gladion’s game counterpart informed the 2 trial-goers to stay alert but Hau’s game counterpart is confused to why Lillie’s game counterpart would be at Aether Paradise but Gladion’s game counterpart replies that she just will be which left both the 2 trial-goers confused. Hau’s game counterpart questions what they will do while Michael questions should they ask around, Gladion’s game counterpart guesses that they’ll take the elevator which left Hau’s game counterpart bewildered about following him but Michael spoke to him about just accepting it since he feels that they’ll have a big chance to save Lillie’s game counterpart and Nebby if they stick with Gladion’s game counterpart which Hau’s game counterpart can understand. Michael informs both Hau’s and Gladion’s game counterparts that he’ll catch up with them at the elevator as those two went on ahead. Michael spoke with his Rotom Dex about what’s been recently happening especially from understanding Hau’s game counterpart’s confusion about Lillie’s game counterpart being at Aether Paradise after she was taken by Team Skull while Rotom Dex looks around to somehow feel that something may be different at Aether Paradise since the last time they were there but for now, they’ll focus on proceeding to the elevator. Michael noticed an Aether Foundation employee and went up to her to ask some questions but suddenly that employee called the young trial-goer an intruder and sent out her Pokemon to defeat him which left Michael bewildered that he was somehow forced into a battle as he had no choice to sent out his own Pokemon. At the end, that employee’s Alolan Dugtrio and Toucannon were defeated by Michael’s Raticate and Toucannon, which also resulted in Raticate earning enough Exp. Points to level up. Somehow the same thing has been happening to Michael as he proceeds to the elevator, he goes to see an Aether Foundation employee to ask questions but an Aether Foundation employee sees him as an intruder that must be defeated resulting in the young trial-goer being forced to battle. Michael’s Toucannon defeated an employee’s Kecleon and Stoutland which led to it earning enough Exp. Points to level up. Michael’s Lycanroc defeated an employee’s Arbok and Lurantis. Michael’s Lycanroc defeated an employee’s Parasect, Sudowoodo, and Drifblim which led to it earning enough Exp. Points to level up. Michael’s Toucannon defeated an employee’s Primeape. Cha (Michael’s Hawlucha) defeated an employee’s Arcanine. As Michael finally met up with Hau’s and Gladion’s game counterparts at the elevator, Gladion’s game counterpart found out that outsiders can’t use the elevator to reach lower levels, having no choice, he had the elevator take them upwards. Arriving on the 1st floor, the three trainers see Faba’s game counterpart is there who describes them to have come back uninvited as Gladion’s game counterpart began to speak with him. Michael was a little surprised to hear that Gladion’s and Faba’s game counterparts knew each other as Gladion’s game counterpart then spoke with Michael about the importance of both Pokemon Battling and being a Pokemon Trainer no matter if you’re a kid or an adult which Michael can definitely agree with. As Gladion’s game counterpart requested Michael to battle Faba’s game counterpart, Faba’s game counterpart finds it a little ridiculous to face a mere child as a line of defense but he accepted anyway. Michael began to speak at Faba’s game counterpart about a little recent confusion involving coming to Aether Paradise to find a way to save a friend and her Pokemon Friend then mentioning how he was forced to battle and defeat some Aether Foundation employees who saw him as an intruder but Faba’s game counterpart had heard enough and sent out his Pokemon which led to Michael doing the same and at the end, Michael’s Eevee defeated Faba’s game counterpart’s Hypno. Faba’s game counterpart is left in a little shock of his defeat as Gladion’s game counterpart spoke with him again about knowing why he came to Aether Paradise. Faba’s game counterpart replied if they’re looking for Cosmog then it may be downstairs on the lab area floor which made both Hau’s game counterpart and Michael remember something from Wicke’s game counterpart about secret labs being on that floor which Faba’s game counterpart replied with their labs being provided with some research on Ultra Wormholes. As Gladion’s game counterpart asked Faba’s game counterpart for a lift to the lab area, he then spoke with the 2 trial-goers about being ready for what they must do, to which the 2 trial-goers replied that they are as they’ve headed on down to the lower level. Arriving on the lab area floor, Gladion’s game counterpart informs the 2 trial-goers that there are 2 labs to be checked out, he shall check out Secret Lab A while asking the 2 trial-goers to check out Secret Lab B which Michael understood but Hau’s game counterpart didn’t understand much about how Gladion’s game counterpart knows about those labs, to which Gladion’s game counterpart replied to just stay focused as he explained that they can’t trust Faba’s game counterpart who might’ve began to inform half the foundation about the 3 of them. Michael spoke about somehow understanding Gladion’s game counterpart due to “recent battling” at Aether Paradise + so much confusion that’s been happening lately but he knows that they must proceed if they wanna save Lillie’s game counterpart and Cosmog which Hau’s game counterpart can understand then gave Michael a Max Revive which he thanked him for. After Hau’s and Gladion’s game counterparts went on ahead to the secret labs, Michael somehow finds himself facing 3 Aether Foundation employees at once which forces him to battle them one-by-one in a row. It was thanks to Incineroar that Michael managed to defeat an employee’s Alolan Muk, an employee’s Magneton, and an employee’s Porygon2 which led to it earning enough Exp. Points to level up. From what the 3 Aether Foundation employees said to Michael before they left, the young trial-goer was bewildered to hear that Cosmog was the key to their research on opening Ultra Wormholes. After meeting up with Hau’s game counterpart, the 2 trial-goers entered Secret Lab B where 2 Aether Foundation employees were not being so kind to them and didn’t want them touching their stuff thus they’ve sent out their Pokemon to defeat them which forced the 2 trial-goers to battle, leading to Michael’s Eevee and Hau’s game counterpart’s Alolan Raichu defeating the 2 employees’ Gorebyss and Huntail. Hau’s game counterpart went on asking the 2 Aether Foundation employees about where Lillie’s game counterpart and Cosmog are but both those employees aren’t telling them anything except mentioning that they’re both not there which the 2 trial-goers are starting to notice. After the 2 Aether Foundation employees walked off, Hau’s game counterpart suggested looking around the lab for clues, which Michael agrees with. Michael first found an Aether Report on Ultra Wormholes involving someone known as “Professor Mohn”, Pokemon-like life forms known as Ultra Beasts which reminded him about the one he once battled (during UM21), and about a different dimension known as “Ultra Space”. Michael found an Aether Report on Cosmog which according to it, both the 2 trial-goers have learned about Cosmog being an Ultra Beast, how it has the power to open Ultra Wormholes when it’s suffering, and how researchers were developing a machine that can manipulate Cosmog’s power for opening Ultra Wormholes from extreme suffering. As the 2 trial-goers met back with Gladion’s game counterpart, they began to inform him about the info on Cosmog that they’ve found out which made Gladion’s game counterpart learn something about why Lillie’s game counterpart had to keep it safe. The 2 trial-goers then explained that there were no signs of Lillie’s game counterpart and Cosmog down at where they were which made Gladion’s game counterpart realize that Faba’s game counterpart may have outsmarted the 3 of them as he rushed back to the elevator.

Michael informed Hau’s game counterpart to go on ahead with Gladion’s game counterpart as he’ll make sure to catch up with them which Hau’s game counterpart understood + the young trial-goer agrees with his friend about getting into this together so they might as well see it to the end together. Pondering about the info on Cosmog back at Secret Lab B made Michael deciding to check out Secret Lab A where Gladion’s game counterpart was checking out and after reading some Aether Reports that were in that lab, the young trial-goer receive a little info about a “beast killer” known as Type: Null which was Gladion’s game counterpart’s Pokemon + Michael also received a little info involving Faba’s game counterpart about “his superior’s family”. Arriving back at the elevator, Michael was somehow feeling too unhappy and bewildered from many recent things that’s been happening which he doesn’t seem to understand. First was after Lillie’s game counterpart and Cosmog were taken by Team Skull, there was a possibility they were taken to Aether Paradise which is somewhere Pokemon that were targeted by Team Skull can be cared for. Second was how Aether Foundation employees forced the young trial-goer to battle them since they saw him as an intruder without letting him ask questions + those employees were not being nice which shows that Aether Paradise was somehow different than the last time he was there (as just his Rotom Dex describes). Lastly, Third was how the Aether Foundation not only knows about Cosmog but it was involved in their research on opening Ultra Wormholes when it was suffering which made the young trial-goer ponder that there may have been other reasons to why Lillie’s game counterpart needed to keep Nebby safe so she can help it get back to its home. So much that has happened recently left Michael questioning why would enemies bring a friend of his and a Pokemon Friend of hers to Aether Paradise, how come the foundation that the young trial-goer had taken a liking to has become way different than the many times that he had seen it during his journey, and lastly, what is the connection involving Team Skull, the Aether Foundation, Nebby (who may be an Ultra Beast), and the game counterparts of Gladion and Lillie.

Michael’s Rotom Dex reminded its companion that saving Lillie’s game counterpart and Cosmog is their current important priority and its certain by the time they’ve done that, many answers can be found out at some point, which the young trial-goer accepts and thanked his Pokedex companion for calming his bewildered mind.

Michael had a feeling that there’ll be more battling to be done, so he switched his Exp. Share back on (as it’s been off since they’ve departed from Tapu Village) then the young trial-goer went on up the elevator to meet up with the game counterparts of Hau and Gladion as he continued his quest to save Lillie’s game counterpart and Nebby.

To Be Continued

(Next: UM31)

Answer: Incineroar

Lesson Notes: For the first time since Alolan Michael set off from his home (during UM03 & UM09), an imaginary episode didn’t end at a Pokemon Center as Michael Lettman had to end it at a pause somewhere at Aether Paradise before being all set to allow Alolan Michael to continue with an important quest, which may be similar with the real Pokemon anime when they ended an episode during an arc of 2 or more episodes.
