UM44: Proceed Up To Mount Lanakila!
Michael’s “Poke Problem”: Which Pokemon did Michael catch at Mount Lanakila? Choices: Lunala, Alolan Sandslash, Necrozma, Solgaleo
Answer: Necrozma (Exp. Share: On)
Note: So much had occurred during UM44 for Michael Lettman to keep track of Alolan Michael’s team leveling up via Exp. Share before it was all “saved”.
UM44's Documentation ("Plot")
Michael looks up at the path of Mount Lanakila then turns to his Pokemon friends about reaching to the top with their help, which they can happily understand as the young trial-goer calls them back into their PokeBalls then makes sure that his Exp. Share was turned on since he’d like for everyone to be trained together again for a while. Michael turns to his Rotom Dex who’s very happy itself to see its companion finally proceed back on his path, the young trial-goer replies that he’s actually excited since now that all 4 grand trials have been cleared, it’s time to take on Mount Lanakila in order to arrive at their big destination known as… The Pokemon League! As Michael arrives at an elevator-like platform, he noticed Gladion’s game counterpart coming down from said platform who claims to have been waiting for Michael to thank him for he had done for his sister and his mother, which the young trial-goer proudly replies that he was happy to help out especially for his sister after everything she went through. Gladion’s game counterpart commented that he appreciated the help maybe more than Michael would know and decided that the only way to give his thanks is a great battle, which the young trial-goer gladly accepts. Gladion’s game counterpart shall show Michael his real full power with his very own Z-Power Ring as the 2 trainers begin their battle. Michael emerged victorious thanks to the hard work of Noctowl, Poipole, Lycanroc, and Incineroar defeating Gladion’s game counterpart’s Crobat, Zoroark, Slivally, and Lucario. It all resulted in Michael’s Hawlucha, Cha earning enough Exp. Points to level up, Poipole did so well in using the Bug-Type Z-Move: Savage Spin-Out, and Incineroar did great to endure a finishing blow to finish the battle with its own finishing blow. During said battle, Michael enjoyed battling Gladion’s game counterpart who definitely showed his full power, Crobat had a high amount of speed, Zoroark showed great full power from using the Dark-Type Z-Move: Black Hole Eclipse, Type: Null had become another kind of Pokemon known as Slivally, and Lucario came very close to defeating Incineroar. As the 2 trainers thanked each other for a great battle, Gladion’s game counterpart claims to understand what kind of trainer Michael is and what journey Michael has been going through, which the young trial-goer can believe (since he could say the same thing for Gladion’s game counterpart himself). Gladion’s game counterpart commented on having seen his sister heading up Mahalo Trail (which sounded similar to Michael) from the last time he saw her then spoke about how his sister is a type of person who understands what Pokemon had been going through, which Michael can also agree with. After Gladion’s game counterpart gave Michael a PP Max from Lillie’s game counterpart, he spoke about trying to battle Hau’s game counterpart and acknowledged how strong he’s gotten to be able to defeat Kahuna Hala’s game counterpart which was not surprising for Michael since he understood how his friend had been aiming to become that strong. Gladion’s game counterpart commented that he knows that he and Michael aren’t friends but they aren’t enemies anymore either, which the young trial-goer can definitely agree with as Gladion’s game counterpart knows that he can’t let his guard down if Michael and Hau’s game counterpart shall continue to get stronger, he then spoke to Michael that maybe they’ll meet again if the young trial-goer continues to keep winning, which Michael could understand as Gladion’s game counterpart departed. Michael commented to himself about no longer seeing the game counterpart of Gladion who worked part-timely for Team Skull but now has seen the game counterpart of Gladion who’s his own Pokemon Trainer self. Michael’s Rotom Dex then gave a reminder that it was time to head up Mount Lanakila for its companion to become the best trainer in all of Alola, which the young trial-goer acknowledged his Pokedex companion for its nice words of determination as they stepped onto the elevator-like platform and went on up into an entrance into Mount Lanakila. Michael acknowledged how great it was to be facing opponents again after a while of not being able to do so. Lycanroc emerged victorious against an ace trainer’s Scyther and Malamar, Cha emerged victorious against an ace trainer’s Shiinotic and Clefable (which allowed it to learn Swords Dance after earning enough Exp. Points to level up), Noctowl and Poipole emerged victorious against a veteran’s Lickitung and Goodra (despite Noctowl losing to Goodra which Poipole then took care of the finishing blow), Bewear emerged victorious against a builder’s Relicanth, Incineroar and Bewear emerged victorious together against 2 martial artist’s Pokemon (Bewear, Mienfoo, and Machamp), and Noctowl and Cha emerged victorious together against 2 martial artist’s Pokemon (Crabominable, Hawlucha, and Pangoro). All of those battles resulted in the young trial-goer’s Pokemon friends earning enough Exp. Points to level up together (mostly with the Exp. Share being turned on) + Lycanroc also defeated 2 wild Pokemon for a little extra Exp. Points for the team. Michael’s Rotom Dex is also enjoying seeing its companion becoming more stronger before they reach their destination. As Michael proceeded on his path, he couldn’t believe his eyes but he got to see a certain Legendary Pokemon again which was… Necrozma! Michael ran down to Necrozma who was lying in a crater wounded and weakened which made the young trial-goer figuring that after Necrozma fled to Alola back when it had to be defeated (during UM37), it must’ve crash landed at Mount Lanakila. As Michael gazed upon the Ultra Beast that he’d been wondering about since the last time he saw it, his Rotom Dex asked its companion if he will share the light of his Z-Power Ring with Necrozma which reminded Michael about the Ultra Recon Squad and he understood what he must do so the young trial-goer replied yes as the light of his Z-Power Ring helped in recovering Necrozma who then gazed upon Michael. The young trial-goer asked the Ultra Beast to face him in battle as he had decided on what he must do. As Noctowl was chosen to face Necrozma, not only it battled well but it managed to pull off the Ghost-Type Z-Move: Never-Ending Nightmare, which was very effective enough on Necrozma for Michael to use a Beast Ball and succeed in catching the Ultra Beast (it also resulted in some of the Pokemon Friends earning enough Exp. Points to level up). Michael’s Rotom Dex was more than excited to have registered a Legendary Pokemon into its database and aided in its companion sending Lycanroc to his PC Box so Necrozma could be added to the party. Michael noticed a Z-Crystal from where Necrozma was lying at which according to his Rotom Dex, it’s a Z-Crystal for allowing Necrozma to unleash its signature Z-Move. As Michael placed Necrozma’s Z-Crystal into his bag, he spoke to his Rotom Dex about his decision which was catching Necrozma. After everything they have learned about the Blinding One, Ultra Megalopolis, and the Ultra Recon Squad, he figured that catching Necrozma could help in making sure the Ultra Beast won’t go into another rage + it might also help in keeping Alola and Ultra Megalopolis safe from darkness, all of which his Rotom Dex can absolutely agree with. Colress’s game counterpart had stepped toward the young trial-goer and reveal that he saw what occurred then commented on Michael being a splendid trainer to be able to get Necrozma as one of his allies, which left the young trial-goer feeling a little proud. From what Colress’s game counterpart revealed, Michael understood what the Ultra Recon Squad had requested Colress’s game counterpart to do (during UM16) but he never thought he ended up accepting what Colress’s game counterpart had invented for them which were devices known as N-Solarizer and N-Lunarizer, devices that could fuse Necrozma with Alola’s Legendary Pokemon, Solagleo and Lunala. Michael also never thought Colress’s game counterpart would have known about the young trial-goer meeting Lunala’s pre-evolved form, Cosmog. Colress’s game counterpart stated that a trainer like Michael would be able properly to use the power of Necrozma and Alola’s Legendary Pokemon, which left the young trial-goer commenting of being a little reluctant about it despite being able to catch Necrozma. As Colress’s game counterpart departed, Michael brought out his newly-caught Ultra Beast to begin caring for it in a Pokemon Refresh activity, which allowed Necrozma to feel some care for its new trainer who shall be aware of holding on to a Legendary Pokemon being a big responsibility. The young trial-goer continued with facing opponents, Noctowl emerged victorious against a backpacker’s Emolga, which resulted in earning enough Exp. Points for it to level up + Michael didn’t mind allowing it to use the Ghost-Type Z-Move: Never-Ending Nightmare during battle. Cha, Poipole, and Incineroar emerged victorious against a veteran’s Pyroar, Milotic, and Claydol. Michael came across a pedestal, which (as he first expected) has a Z-Crystal that the young trial-goer began to reach for and nothing had happened (similar to his Flyinium Z and Psychium Z) as he had obtained another Z-Crystal, which according to his Rotom Dex was an Ice-Type Z-Crystal, Icium Z. After checking some data on the Ice-Type Z-Move (and pose) by his Rotom Dex, Michael proceeds on his path, which led to him facing a collector’s Florges and decided to allow this battle be his first in battling alongside his newly-caught Ultra Beast, Necrozma. Michael’s new Ultra Beast friend not only emerged victorious but it also did great in using the Psychic-Type Z-Move: Shattered Psyche. Not only did Bewear emerge victorious against a hiker’s Gigalith, it also did great in using the Ice-Type Z-Move: Subzero Slammer. Bewear also had done well in defeating 3 wild Pokemon for a little extra Exp. Points for the team + allowing itself to level up just like the rest of the team. Poipole and Necrozma emerged victorious against an ace trainer’s Vanilluxe and Mismagius, afterwards it was a very tough struggle during another battle but Bewear and Necrozma managed to have emerged victorious against a ace/apprentice’s Vikavolt and Forrestress and a veteran/master’s Glalie, Bisharp, and Tyranitar, which resulted in some of the Pokemon friends (including Bewear and Necrozma) earning enough Exp. Points to level up (+ Bewear learned Superpower). Michael didn’t mind allowing Poipole to defeat 2 wild Pokemon for it and Cha earning enough Exp. Points to level up. As Michael stepped onto an elevator-like platform and went on upwards, the young trial-goer could see that he finally arrived at the top of Mount Lanakila. Michael became even more happy as he got to see an old Pokemon Friend of his, the Alolan Vulpix that he helped care for (from UM16 to UM18). Michael also notices the foundation worker who (as expected) was an Aether Foundation employee and he then realized that the Alolan Vulpix was at a white snowy mountain, which turned out to be Mount Lanakila. After Michael and the Alolan Vulpix had a little playtime together, the young trial-goer can look forward to some more playtime with it for a while during his stay at his current destination. Michael came across one of the builders of the Pokemon League who told the young trial-goer about his passionate story of building an entire Pokemon League for trainers to compete after they’ve finished with their island challenges and he was happy to be a part of those who worked so hard with Professor Kukui’s game counterpart to build a league on a sacred ground like Mount Lanakila that shall be big and historic to many in the Alola region which then left Michael in a huge amount of anticipation.
As the young trial-goer begins with his stay at Mount Lanakila’s Pokemon Center by first recovering all of his hard-working Pokemon friends, he meets Madam Memorial who can help Pokemon remember long-forgotten moves in exchange for Heart Scales, which Michael finds fascinating especially since he has a good collection of Heart Scales on hand. Michael decided to have Madam Memorial aid Poipole in remembering a move, which allowed it to know a Dragon-Type move, Dragon Pulse.
After giving his thanks (and a Heart Scale), Michael informs Madam Memorial that he shall get back to her for aiding a few other Pokemon friends, which she can do anytime in exchange for Heart Scales of course. After settling down at the Pokemon Center Cafe, Michael took a look at the grand trial stamps in his Trainer Passport, which made him feel proud to have made it this far with all his Pokemon friends.
Michael then stepped outside to look at the magnificent view from at the top of Mount Lanakila with his Rotom Dex who happens to be more than proud of its companion for making it all this way, they both agree that much training and preparations shall get under way as the young trial-goer shall definitely look forward to battling in the Pokemon League.

Answer: Necrozma
“Off-Screen” Necessary Saving Activities: For the events of UM45 & UM46, Michael Lettman wanted to make sure both imaginary episodes shall be well-enjoyed for Alolan Michael before a very important challenge of his journey comes to an end. Which is why he allowed the young trial-goer to use one of his Technical Machines, receive a little aid from Madam Memorial, and take care of a little training with 2 Pokemon friends at a grassy area just below Mount Lanakila’s Pokemon Center to prepare his chosen party for the Pokemon League (1 Pokemon friend went up a level as a result) + there’s also purchasing much-needed Hyper Potions at the PokeMart. Michael Lettman also allowed Alolan Michael to enjoy Pokemon Refresh activities with all Pokemon friends along with taking care of some training with some of his Pokemon friends at said grassy area (+ a little aid from Madam Memorial for Raticate) to spend a little more time with them since those Pokemon friends won’t be participating in the League with their trainer + it was acceptable in making some of them evenly-leveled with some collected Rare Candies. It was also acceptable to make 1 stop at Poke Pelago to enjoy seeing all Pokemon friends doing well + there’s also collecting a few extra much-needed PokeBeans.
